Nate was our #1 pitcher and pitched in our biggest games. He is a bulldog on the mound and always gives us a chance to win. His last start in 2019 was his best. A complete game victory vs Carlton Airport. They were 32-1 on the year and we played them on their home field. Carlton Airport was the #1 ranked team in Division 2). Nate was in commend from the start, battled through adversity, and led us to victory. Threw a complete game 1-0 shutout vs UD Jesuit. . He has an excellent work ethic and wants to be great. Nate will play for Schoolcraft College next year.

Josh was our most reliable relief pitcher. He was always put in the most difficult situations and was very successful at his craft. His calm composure and his unique left-handed delivery make him a formidable force. Josh does a great job of limiting the running game and pounds the strike zone.

Nicholas Harrison

Coach Aaron Loconsole
Nick is a very athletic outfielder with a good bat to go with it. He is a young player that I anticipate locking down the outfield for us the next couple years. Nick is a very respectful young man and an outstanding student who has accumulated a 4.33 GPA in his time thus far at DHS. Varsity player as a freshman. .435 AVG with his summer team, along with a .509 OBP.

Jalen Story
Junior
Robichaud High School
3 Year Varsity Player
Coach Elvis Johnson
After reviving the program in 2019. Jalen Story remained on the team after the season was cancelled before the team could play their first game. For a few weeks- he was the only player showing up to practice, getting major reps. Story became “co-captain” of his summer league team and logged in 50+ games over the course of the summer at shortstop leading the team to a 3rd place finish in the Detroit PAL league’s 18U division. Jaylen also led performances during off season conditioning.

Mario Cortez
Freshman
Robichaud High School
1 Year Varsity Player
Coach Elvis Johnson
At the end of the 2019 school year, Mario Cortez decided that baseball would be his sport of choice. Joining his high school summer team- Mario played at the highest possible level (18u) as a 14 year old. Among all his teammates; Mario’s talent has developed the fastest and 2020 would have been a breakout season for the freshman who has yet to play a high school baseball game. He will be among the league’s best as a sophomore.

Thomas Zarate
Freshman
Robichaud High School
1 Year Varsity Player
Coach Elvis Johnson
Tomas Zarate developed the strongest arm on the team in a short amount of time. Zarate developed a fluid swing just as fast. In a season that ended before it started, He became the closet to becoming the teams “5 tool player”. Played excellent during the summer 2019 campaign.

James Foreman
Junior
Robichaud High School
3 Year Varsity Player
Coach Elvis Johnson
James Foreman - Jr. 3B/LF (alternate)
If 2019 was any indication, James Forman was set to anchor the “hot corner” in 2020. Sibling (brother) of Tomas Zarate, James became the first half of a very aggressive swinging duo. There is no one more motivated to play.
