Aarin had another great season for DHS, her 4th on Varsity. Aarin has been a great player and Captain for the team and has continually provided a truly awesome level of leadership.
Aarin had a lot of big moments in key games for us this year and stepped up in a big way for her team.
Aarin was among the top two leaders in every offensive category this season and led the team in RBI's (27):

w SLG: .672 (2nd)
w OBP: .547 (2nd)
Aarin is also a great defensive player with a .897 fielding percentage and 70 Putouts. Aarin would play any position asked of her regardless of the sacrifice. Aarin's presence will truly be missed!

Jadyn is another 4 year varsity player who has steadily improved over her softball career. We could always count on Jadyn's effort and experience to help the team. Although Jadyn did not have a lot of experience as a pitcher, she volunteered, jumped in and performed very well when the team needed her most. In addition, Jadyn also helped her teammates work on hitting and fielding techniques, which really helped improve our overall games. Jadyn had a great year at the plate and finished in the top three in nearly every offensive category:

Jadyn also played Center Field and had 30 putouts. Jadyn wll be missed!

Bess is a 3rd Year Varsity Player and served as the #1 Pitcher and played Shortstop and 3rd Base.
As a Pitcher Bess's stats include:

w 94 Strikeouts (in 83 Innings)
w ERA of 3.40
Offensively Bess's was among the top two leaders in nearly every offensive category:
w AVG: .475 (1st)
w SLG: .689 (1st)
w OBP: .584 (1st)
w RBI's: 24 (2nd)
Bess led by example and always gave her best effort. Bess served as a team Captain and is the third Grantham family member to be a starter for DHS Varsity softball since her Freshman Year.

Aubrey has made tremendous progress since the start of the season. While this was Aubrey's first varsity season she has greatly improved in all aspects of her game. Aubrey started out as a Shortstop but was transitioned to 2nd base where her defensive prowess has continually improved. As the seson progressed the team was abe to lean on Aubrey's defensive and at one point she had 23 consecutive Putouts. Aubrey also improved the Offensive side of her game scoring a team high 31 Runs while serving as the teams leadoff batter.

Alina is a three year varsity player. Alina is very versatile defensively pitching and playing first base, however Alina's offensive contributions were key. Alina's quality at-bats and putting the ball in play to move the girls around and score made her true asset to our team. During her career she earned All-District and All-Area honors two years. In addition, Alina was named All-League.
Alina will continue her softball career at Schoolcraft College. Go Ocelots!

A Junior who transferred to DC her sophomore year. This is Macy's first year on DC Varsity. Macy is a powerful hitter who when she catches the ball is going to send it soaring. She plays first and right field for the team. We are confident that Macy is going to get better and better!

Isa is a “two” year varsity player losing a year to COVID. She is a sophomore starting at 2nd base. She is a little dynamo defensively on the field. Her attitude is infectious. Her speed makes her an asset on the bases. When she is on you know that she is going to score. We look forward to seeing what Isa will accomplish in the future.

Savina is a “two” year varsity player losing a year to COVID. She is a sophomore who can really play
anywhere! She plays primarily third and centerfied for our team. She is a left handed slapper and dragger but can hit for power as well! Once on the bases she is looking to score.She is an intense competitor who works very hard to contribute to the team. We are looking forward to Savina’s future accomplishments in softball!

Avery is a “two” year varsity player losing a year to COVID. She is a sophomore starting at shortstop.
Her softball knowledge is beyond her years and it is obvious when she is on the dirt and running the bases. Avery is a threat both offensively and defensively. She was named All-Catholic this year. We cannot wait to see what the future holds for Avery!

Maya is a fierce competitor, you can count on Maya to get on base and when she does she is determined to reach the plate. Maya was named All-League this year for pitching! We are excited to see Maya grow in the sport!

Captain, pitcher and clean-up hitter. This year Nina led the team in BA, OBP, and RBI’s. She has been the leader in the pitching circle for 77 of the 80 innings played this year. Nina won the team batting title as a sophomore and won the team mvp as a senior.
