Frequently Asked Questions
Registration Questions
Dearborn Baseball typically begins accepting applications in January. The deadline for fastpitch softball is March 15. The deadline for t-ball, coach pitch and baseball is April 10.
Dearborn Baseball is now using TeamSnap for online registration. TeamSnap will be the primary method to register, with online registration essentially replacing the printed forms from previous seasons.
This year, the birthday for ages has changed for T-Ball and Coach Pitch to August 31. This means players who turn 4 on or before August 31, 2019 would be eligible to begin play in the T-Ball division. And players who turn 6 on or before August 31, 2019 would be eligible to begin play in Coach Pitch.
As an option to online registration, application forms are usually available to download from on our web site starting in January and made available at the front desk of Dearborn's Ford Community & Performing Arts Center.
Dearborn Baseball may accept non-Dearborn residents at no additional cost. However, Dearborn residents receive priority over non-residents and in the rare case there is not enough room a spot can not be guaranteed for non-residents.
In T-Ball and Coach Pitch, an effort is made to put kids in the same neighborhood or school on the same team. However, there is no guarantee that your child will play with children from their school or from their school baseball team.
For Mustang, Bronco and Colt divisions, players attend a pre-season evaluation day, and are drafted onto teams by the coaches. The skills evaluation ensures teams will be as evenly matched as possible.
League Questions
Coach Pitch = Ages 6-8 co-ed
Bronco = Ages 11-13
Colt = Ages 14-17
19 & Under = Ages 17-19
While Coach Pitch does exist as an option for our young girls, we would prefer that they play in 8U fastpitch. Dearborn Baseball is focused on offering opportunities for girls to develop their skills that will utimately lead them to success in high school sports if they choose to continue to play.
All of our 17 and older leagues, boys and girls, are travel leagues. They are more competitive and will require driving to games in other cities. These teams have cuts and no player is guaranteed a spot. We also offer travel teams for our younger players.
Ask your league commissioner if you are interested in travel baseball.
Yes, for the Mustang Division only, please contact Mustang commissioner Steve Wendzinski at steve@dearbornbaseball.org.

If you have any doubts about the status of a game or practice, then you should call the coach of your child's team. If you cannot reach the coach, you should show up at the designated place and time for the practice or game. Rainouts and make-up games are up to coaches and umpires.
